David Makanani Principal
|
David Makanani is a co-founder of OMEDtech. For 36 years, David’s career has been focused primarily in managing and developing medical devices through the Regulatory, Quality and Clinical Processes. Approximately 10 years of this experience was with the FDA specializing in medical device requirements.
Prior to OMEDtech, he was the Senior Vice President for Clinical and Regulatory Affairs for Soundtec, a medical device startup with a unique implantable hearing system. David implemented and directed the company’s clinical program and regulatory process to a successful approval of the company’s PreMarket Approval (PMA) application by the FDA. Makanani has held similar positions with Sulzer Intermedics, Inc. and Biotronik, Inc., both manufacturers of implantable defibrillators and cardiac pacemakers, Sulzer CarboMedics, a manufacturer of implantable prosthetic heart valves, and Amnion, a manufacturer of blood recovery systems.
David Makanani has a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Oklahoma.

Steve Ford Principal
|
Stephen Ford is a co-founder of OMEDtech. Mr. Ford’s expertise and knowledge encompasses executive management, product development, operations management and quality system development for innovative medical devices ranging from miniaturized cochlear implants, perfusion systems for open heart surgery to implantable neurostimulators.
He served as the Chief Operating Officer for Soundtec, a medical device startup with a unique implantable hearing system from 1999 to 2002. From 1992 to 1999, he was the Vice President of Manufacturing for Cyberonics, a medical device startup developing the first neurostimulation device for the treatment of epilepsy. Steve served as the Director of Manufacturing from 1993 to 1987 for Quest Medical, a startup introducing a new drug infusion technology and continued that role with the acquirer, McGaw from 1987 to 1992. Steve’s prior experience in the aerospace and commercial aviation industries was the perfect foundation to his medical device career.
From 1974 to 1983, Mr. Ford worked in the aerospace and commercial aviation industries.
Mr. Ford graduated from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor
of Science in Engineering Technology.

Elton Milton Director of Business Development
|
Elton Milton’s leadership and professional experience spans over 12 years that included 6+ years as an operations consultant and 6+ years in Sales and Marketing.
Elton is also a principal and co-founder of Catrana Capital Partners, a mid-market advisory firm. He has spent his early years working in Director-level positions for multi-million dollar Chemical and Plastics Companies, where his efforts were spent generating new business, new customer acquisition, and leading the sales, marketing, operations and new product development functions. Prior to that, Elton was the Assistant to the President as part of a highly competitive, fast-tracked, leadership development program. He performed the valuation analysis which led to the acquisition of a $50MM Canadian blow molder which was integrated within in 4 months of acquisitions, led a turnaround strategy that reduced $2MM in overhead costs on a $14MM annualized spend and acted as the General Manager, driving alignment between the Sales and Operations organizations for this $25MM business unit
Elton Milton received an M.B.A. in Finance and Marketing from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and a B.S. in Business, magna cum laude, from Babson College (Wellesley, MA).
